Summary

The structure of the dissertation consists of an introduction, 3 chapters and sub sections, general conclusions and recommendations, bibliography comprising a list of 284 references and sources, 141 pages of body text, 6 figures, and 12 tables. The results were published in 20 scientific papers.

The research area pertains to international relations theory, research subdomain of political science and fully complies with the passport of the speciality.

The purpose of the dissertation is to realize theoretical and conceptual study of political and international dimensions of human development and to analyze its implementation in the Republic of Moldova in the process of globalization. The objectives have been implemented as follows: undertaking a historiographical analysis of the human development issue in modern political science; analysis of the impact of globalization, highlighting international and domestic risks and challenges to human development; identifying Moldova’ modernization process in the context of global development and European integration, Moldova’s national human development policy priorities, and the analysis of the role of international cooperation for human development of the potential of the Republic of Moldova under conditions of globalization

The scientific novelty and originality focus on research of the political dimensions of human development in Moldova in the context of globalization in political science and international relations; analysis of the current situation and prospects of implementation of human development policies in the process of European integration of the Republic of Moldova; bringing the scientific arguments concerning the application of the human development concept as a component part of the system of socio-political values and sustainable development strategy of the Republic of Moldova under conditions of globalization.The scientific problem addressed in political science and international relations refers to the conceptualization, updating and stirring up the political dimensions of human development in multidimensional crisis overcoming process and modernization of the Republic of Moldova at the contemporary stage.

The theoretical significance of the research comprises theoretical and conceptual arguments and politological analysis on the political dimensions of human development in the context of globalization, at the stage of Moldova’s European integration.

Applied value of the thesis. Research results may serve as theoretical and methodological reference in researching and studying the political and international aspects of human development in the context of globalization, in developing university courses in global studies, as well as the conceptual basis of Moldova’s domestic human development policies and strategies.

Implementation of the scientific results was performed in the work as university lecturer in teaching and training students, and in the framework of the domestic and international projects. In 2002-2005 there was undertaken a research on the human development mechanism through students’ civic participation under the Civic Engagement Program Office. In 2006-2008, the international cooperation and social diplomacy mechanisms on human development in the diaspora of Moldovans working in Portugal were approved.
