Summary

Paper (Thesis) structure.Introduction, five chapters, general conclusions and recommendations, bibliography from 393 titles, 257 pages, basic test (up to the Bibliography chapter), 26 tables in Annexes. The obtained results were published in over 60 scientific works.

The scope of paper is the research of the phenomenon of spreading and circulation of the old Romanian book in the eastern part of Moldova in the XVI-XIX centuries on the basis of documentary sources, manuscript remarks and the capitalization of manuscript remarks in order to highlight, analyze and synthesize the main subjects from their content. The objectives of the paper lie in: ascertainment of the research level of the problem in historical science; identifying the topics that require a complex approach; estimation of the role of each printing center in the Romanian cultural landscape; identification of historical periods and political circumstances regarding the dissemination of Romanian literature in the eastern part of Moldova during the period of our interest; reevaluation of the information about some books printed in Chisinau during 1815-1830, whose dating was uncertain and proposal, based on the archive documents and the formulated deductions of another dating, which in our opinion does not involve uncertainties; identification, based on the documentary sources, of the routes of the old Romanian book up to Bessarabia and establishing the role of each printing center in completion with literature of the libraries within the religious institutions; elucidation within the limits of the archive information and manuscript inscriptions the foundation and evolution of the monastery libraries on the left side of the Prut River and the identification of the libraries rich in old Romanian books in order to establish their role and place in the cultural development of Bessarabia; identification of the historical events from the inscriptions to compare them with other documentary sources in order to clarify their veracity; systematization of information from manuscripts and other historical sources in order to draw a picture of tectonic movements in the Moldavian space; processing of the manuscript remarks about the meteorological observations and shaping their chronicle during the period of our interes.

The scientific novelty of the paper is that for the first time in the Romanian historiography it was discussed in its complexity the issue of the printing, the circulation of the book and the manuscript remarks, from which, besides the subject of the Romanian literature spreading to the east of the Prut, were elucidated subjects such as: historical events, earthquakes and meteorological mentions.

The theoretical value of the paper is in the analysis of the printing phenomenon and of the circulation of the Romanian book on the territory of eastern Moldova during the XVI-XIX centuries, by application of the multi-disciplinary principle. The applicative value. In connection with the multidisciplinary character of the paper, the results of this research can be applied in scientific papers elaborated by historians, theologians, philologists, etc.

Implementing the results. The scientific results were implemented by publishing two monographs and over 60 articles, used in the elaboration of the communications at scientific conferences and symposia. Also, the theses from the paper can be used in the elaboration of the courses for the university education, didactic materials for the Master courses, for the elaboration of the Bachelor and Master papers
