Summary

Field of study: Botany.

The aim of the thesis: Evaluation and ecological reconstruction of inadequate stands in “Codrii” Scientifical Reserve.

Objectives of work: analyses of stands in the reserve; classification of stands according to the degree of influence of the anthropic factor and highlighting those inadequate; analysis of the technique applied to the ecological reconstruction of tree stands over the last 20 years; establishing of methods and forestry treatments in ecological reconstruction works of derivative stands; simulation of the works to be carried out until the completion of the ecological reconstruction works in the studied stands.

Scientific novelty and originality. The technology of the ecological reconstruction of the partially and totally derived stands from the „Codrii” Reserve was elaborated. The classification of the „Codrii” Reserves forest stands was elaborated according to the degree of influence of the human factor: the intensity of the changes in the composition and structure, the regeneration mode and the presence of the main species in the arboretum, the area of the species in the composition (indigenous, exotic) and their forest station correspondence. For the first time, in the forest fund of the Republic of Moldova was included the category of semiartificial stand. The technique of performing of the forestry treatments in the ecological reconstruction works of the partially and totally derivative trees from the „Codrii” Reserve was elaborated.

The scientific problem solved. Technologies have been developed to carry out the ecological reconstruction works of the derived stands from the „Codrii” Reserve. These technologies contribute to the promotion of natural regeneration (in partially derived stands) and artificial regeneration from seeds (in the totally derived stands) and the conversion to the "codru" regime of the forests, previously treated in the "grove" regime. The application of forest treatments in the ecological reconstruction works of the derivative stands was carried out with simulation of the final state in the "Codrii" Reserve.

Theoretical significance and applicative value. The assessment of the inadequate stands according to the degree of the influence of human factor revealed in the “Codrii” Reserve 1718.5 ha or 34.1% of the total forest land, the stands requiring ecological reconstruction. The notion of improper stands for the „Codrii” Reserve was formulated. The theoretical basis of the ecological reconstruction of the totally and partially derived stands were laid. The results of the scientific researches will be used for the treatment of progressive and combined cuttings in the partially derived stands and of the successive cuttings in the totally derived stands.

Implementation of scientific results. The scientific results will be used to elaboration of the technical norms regarding the ecological reconstruction of the partially and totally derivative stands. The sample surfaces from the forest stands conducted with ecological reconstruction works serve as a teaching base for staff perfecting
