Summary

Field of study: Hygiene.

Aim of the study: The hygienic estimation of the lead content in the environmental factors in the Republic of Moldova and the elaboration of measures to reduce the negative impact on population’s health.

Objectives of the study:determination of the concentration of lead in the environmental media: atmospheric; determination of lead concentration in biological media; assessment of the health risk associated with the exposure to lead sources of population; elaboration of complex measures to minimize the exposure of population to lead sources.

The scientific originality of innovation. Current research results differ by originality; have a steering contemporary and current complexity of research conducted for the first time on the level of environmental factors pollution and the load of this toxic metal in the human body that have not been studied in recent decades.

Scientific problem solved in thesis. It was identified vulnerable groups of lead impacts, described the body's functional degradation due to exposure to lead under current environmental conditions, it was determined lead concentration in human body and associated risk.

Theoretical significance. It was realized a study model that harmonizes with the current laws of public health and toxicology, completing the listed areas with scientific and didactical data on the pollution of environmental factors and lead incorporation into human body.

The theoretical value. Studying the issues adressed in complex enabled us to develop and implement preventive measures in health surveillance and prevention of adverse impacts from the exposure to polluated environment.

Implementation of scientific results. Scientific results have served as arguments in the elaboration of the national strategy to eliminate the lead and plan of actions. The research results will be used as methodological support for specialists of Public Health Centers, central and local administrative bodies, family doctors, persons engaged in agriculture, population
