Summary

The thesis contains an introduction, three chapters, conclusions and recommendations, bibliography of 148 titles, 157 pages of main text, 23 tables, 14 figures, and 6 annexes. The results are published in 15 scientific papers total volume of 7,9 sheets of author.

The domain of study: International economic relations. Theoretical, methodological and applied issues disclosed in the thesis aim approaches and visions on the impact of economic sanctions on foreign trade nationally and internationally.

The purpose and objectives of the thesis: is the development the scientific and methodological fundamentals that imply the implementation of trade policies on the optimization and diversification of the foreign trade under the implementation of the Association Agreement with the European Union, to reduce the impact of economic sanctions on the sustainable development of the national economy.

Achieving the goal set in the doctoral thesis determined the formulation and solving of the following objectives: research of the theoretical premises regarding the promotion of external trade relations; the argumentation of the implementation of measures to protect the national economy from the competition of the other states; implementing economic diplomacy by developing policies to expand exports and imports of advanced technologies; the formulation of changes in the diffusion of international trade relations; studying the impact of economic sanctions on the foreign trade of the Republic of Moldova, highlighting and activating the internal factors of efficient growth of the foreign trade of the Republic of Moldova; investigating international trade policy at regional and subregional level; arguing the need to increase the efficiency of foreign trade through internal and external measures and modernization of international trade policy.

The scientific novelty of the thesis includes the following elements: it consists in the development of the theoretical and methodological bases regarding the implementation of the commercial policies regarding optimization and diversification of the foreign trade; the multilateral determination of the problems and the theoretical premises regarding the reduction of the impact of the economic sanctions on the sustainable development of the national economy; the conceptual approach of implementing measures to protect the national economy from competition from other states; designing the defining elements of the policy of expanding or reducing exports and imports of economic goods, based on the implementation of economic diplomacy, to mitigate the impact of economic sanctions; elaboration of a scenario of economic growth of the Republic of Moldova based on the Solow neoclassical model until 2023; proposing scientific and methodological measures to increase the efficiency of foreign trade through internal and external measures and to modernize international trade policy.

Important scientific problem solved: It is to develop complex of scientific and methodologica measures wich involve implementation of trade policies for the optimization and diversificationMoldova's foreign trade, reducing the impact of economic sanctions on the sustainable development of the national economy.

Theoretical and practical value of the thesis. Consist in the the possibilities of the application of the theoretical and methodological approaches elaborated for the implementation of trade policies on the optimization and diversification of foreign trade of the Republic of Moldova, to reduce the impact of economic sanctions on the sustainable development of the national economy.

The implementation of scientific results: The conclusions and recommendations as well as many parts of the main ideas of the thesis were presented at symposia, conferences with national or international participation. Applicative research results and basic ideas elaborated were presented for the implementation to the Ministry of Economy and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Moldova.
