Summary

Thesis structure: The paper comprises an introduction, four chapters, general conclusions and recommendations, 171 references, 7 annexes, 107 pages, 18 figures, 73 tables. The results are published in 13 scientific papers. Keywords: renewable energy, gaseous biofuels, potential, cost of biogas and syngas, levelized cost of energy.

Field of study - technical sciences. The purpose of the thesis consists in developing the methodological framework for estimating the potential of gaseous biofuels from organic waste in the country and determining the costs related to gaseous biofuels and the energy produced from them, under the conditions of the Republic of Moldova.

Objectives of the paper: Studying the ways of estimating the potential of biogas and syngas from biodegradable waste in order to develop a methodology for its evaluation at a certain time; assessing and analyzing the cost of biogas and syngas and renewable energy in cogeneration technologies from gaseous biofuels under the conditions of the Republic of Moldova.

Scientific novelty and originality. For different sources of biodegradable waste, is proposed, formulated and applied a methodology for estimating biogas and syngas potential to a future point time, is identified the potential power of energy conversion units at district and local level. Economic models have been adapted and applied to determine the cost of gaseous biofuel and equivalent static models for its conversion energy sources.

The result obtained that brings scientific-practical contributions in an area of current interest -the promotion of renewable energy sources, consists in demonstrating the availability of local potential of gaseous biofuels from biodegradable waste, based on the proposed methodology for it estimating, which determined the analysis of the competitiveness of the options for the use of biogas and bio-syngas, in order to argue the need to promote their use for energy purposes.

The theoretical value. This thesis brings a scientific contribution in an area of broad interest -elaboration of the methodology for estimating the potential of gaseous biofuels, identification of mathematical models for biogas production and of the generating units according to the number of animals.

The practical value of the work. In this paper, it was estimated the gaseous biofuels available potential, possible to be used for energy purposes in the country, it was determined and analyzed the performance of biogas and syngas production technologies and calculated their cost and levelized cost of electricity for the sources that could be promoted in the country.

Implementation of research results. Within the project "Manure management practices and technologies for biogas production", the guides have been developed Biogas production from animal waste and Use of biogas in the production of heat and electricity, where are presented important results from the paper. The guides are being used in the teaching process at the Faculty of Energy and Electrical Engineering, TUM.
