ANNOTATION Oleinic Svetlana. Compositional-artistic techniques in the architecture of modern administrative buildings of the city of Chisinau, thesis for the PhD degree of Doctor of Architecture. Chisinau, 2021. The structure of thesis: introduction, 3 chapters, conclusions and recommendations (120 pages of the main text), bibliography of 203 titles, 8 applications. Total 241 pages. The research results were published in 18 scientific articles. Keywords: architecture of administrative buildings, business centers, compositional techniques, typology, shaping, volume-spatial composition. Research area: 212.01. Architecture of buildings and structures. Research aim. To identify trends in the development of architecture of modern administrative buildings in the city of Chisinau and to develop scientifically based recommendations for their design based on the patterns of shaping, with considering of existing urban context. Research objectives: to reveal the growing role of composition in the modern architecture and to determine the contribution of architectural schools in this process; to identify the main stages of formation of the architecture of Chisinau administrative buildings; to classify the city administrative buildings according to the principles of shaping; to identify trends of development of the architecture of administrative buildings built during the years of independence of the Republic of Moldova; to develop recommendations for the design of administrative buildings in Chisinau existing urban context. Scientific novelty of research. This is the first study that traces the evolution of the architecture of Chisinau administrative buildings from the end of the 19th century and reveals the trends of development of modern city architecture. Scientific result. The current trends in the development of the architecture of administrative buildings have been identified and recommendations for their design have been formulated. Resolved scientific problems: the stages of the formation of the architecture of administrative buildings in Chisinau have been determined; the current trends in the development of the architecture of the city's administrative buildings have been revealed; recommendations for their design based on the environmental approach have been given. Theoretical significance. The defining role of composition in modern architecture is revealed, reflecting its dominance over the structural and planning components of architecture in the context of accelerating technical progress. Practical significance. The research will be useful: in developing of the concept of architecture of administrative buildings at the design stage; in the process of evaluation of project proposals; in elaboration of strategic documents for the city development; can become a methodological basis for further scientific research; used as a methodological and didactic material in vocational training. Approbation and implementation of research results. The research results: reflected in 18 scientific articles, 2 guidelines; presented at 23 scientific conferences and seminars in Moldova, Netherlands, Portugal, Romania and Ukraine. On their basis: the program of the course „Basics of composition and architectural design” was developed (2016); guidelines „Principles of functional zoning of public buildings” were published (2015); 5 graduation projects were designed.
