Summary

The present dissertation approaches the issue of improving the technical preparation of beginner handball players through presenting specific means.

The analysis of specific literature, as well as personal experience have disclosed the fact that technical preparation is the key factor in training beginner handball players – a component that requires increased attention during athletic training in the initiation period. The experiment proved the fact that the level of technical preparation of handball players aged between 10 and 11 years old mostly does not fulfill the requirements advanced by the Romanian Federation of Handball for this age. The refore, an effort of improving the technical preparation of beginner handball players has been undertaken in given research, through presenting specific means. By planning the training process of handball players aged 10-11 on an annual training macrocycle, there was developed a pedagogical experiment for a term of a school year, in order to assess the effectiveness of the suggested experimental method.

By analyzing the results of the pedagogical experiment it was determined the fact that the level of training has grown significantly among the handball players belonging to the experimental group as opposed to that of the witness group, where the training took place traditionally, based on the documents existing in the competent institutions of organizing the training process for beginners. The most relevant results were shown in the technical preparation of the beginner handball players, where these were superior to those belonging to the witness group, at most of the tested parameters.

Consequently, the methodology of the technical preparation of beginner handball players validated in the main pedagogical experiment can be recommended for implementation to handball trainers in specific institutions that deal with training future professional handball players.
