Summary

The research contains annotations, list of abbreviations, text 150 pages, introduction and five chapters, conclusions, bibliography of 270 titles, 8 annexes. The results are published in 12 scientific papers, including 2 monographs, 6 articles without co-author, and 9 presentations at national and international conferences.

Field of study: Romanian medieval history. The aim of the work: research of the development and evolution process of chief dignitaries during Stephen the Great era, the role of the ruler in selecting and placing them in higher positions of state power, relations between the prince and the boyars at different stages of Stephen's ruling period.

Objectives of the paper: The designation of structures, entourages and environment of affirmation (royal counsel, court, chancellery, treasury, etc.) to senior officials during the reign of Stephen the Great; researching the expertise of the ruler in country's royal council constitution consecutive components based on principles of compromise and balanced representation of groups boyars; studding the prince’s entourage dignitaries and royal council activities, constantly changing during the investigated period; the aim of the co-signing of the official acts by boyars alongside the ruler (1459-1479); investigating big boyars oppositions and it’s countering (1467-1471); revealing the phrase "and his children" in the text of official documents (1468-1478); elucidating the role of Stephen the Great's relatives and kinship among senior officials in consolidating central royal power; identifying solutions in completing the state dignitaries positions after the high casualties during the wars against the Ottomans (1473-1484); investigation tactics and approach in personnel policy of the Prince during the lately reign period (1487-1504); shaping the political profile of the most important officials of Stephen the Great.

Scientific novelty: The investigation bears original character and comes with a new vision and a radiography of the consecutiveness in the high positions of state of the most important figures during the time of Stephen the Great, the relationship between the ruler and the boyars during reign. Scientific problem solved: The research reveals the environment and structures that contributed to elite formation from high spheres of power and their evolution; are determined the changes, political positioning and role of senior officials in the royal counsel, in the military, administrative and diplomatic structures during the reign of Stephen the Great, how were achieved stability and balance of interests between the prince and the boyars, proven the contribution of major officials in managing and defending the country, thereby solving an important scientific problem.

Theoretical value: The results of the paper contribute to the existing researches regarding the theoretical aspect of the elites and personality role in history.

The value of the work: Developments in the political, military and administrative elites, has a wide range of application, providing viable models today in preparation, selection and placement in various positions of responsibility, especially in the high state positions in Republic of Moldova, in finding lasting solutions in relations between leaders and elites, between management and subordinates.

Implementation of scientific results: Preparing synthesis papers, university manuals and courses, and state construction.
