Summary

The thesis contains the following parts: introduction, three chapters, general conclusions and recommendations, list of references from 173 sources, 18 appendixes, 154 pages of the main text, 62 figures, 30 tables. The obtained results of the investigation were published in 12 scientific papers.

The field of the researchis the analyze of the theories and methods of determination of competitiveness of the agricultural enterprises from the horticultural sector of Moldova.

The main goal and objectives of this research consists of increasing the competitivenes of the agricultural enterprises from the horticultural sector of the Republic of Moldova.

Scientific novelty and originality of the reasearch consists in improving the determination methodology of the agricultural enterprises competitiveness using econometric models by the application of total factor productivity; appreciation of the horticultural production value chain role and the cooperation’s role through clusters.

The importance of the scientific problem of the thesis consists in elaboration of recommendations of increasing the competitiveness of the agricultural enterprises from the horticultural sector of the Republic of Moldova and also in improving the methodology of determination the competitiveness of the agricultural enterprises.

The theoretical importance of the thesis consists of application of the conceptual approaches of the theories regarding the competitiveness of enterprises, ways of increasing the competitiveness of enterprises and also of the improving of the methodology of determination of competitiveness of the agricultural enterprises.

The applied value of the thesis consists in using the scientific results by the policy makers in agriculture at the elaboration of supportive policies of the agricultural producers regarding the ensurance with the necessary resources to achieve high level of production quality, conquest of new markets; using the proposed methods in determination of competitiveness.

Implementation of scientific results. The results of scientific investigations have been implemented by the State Agency “Apele Moldovei”, Agricultural Competitiveness and Enterprise Development Project (ACED), GŢ „Plîngău Grigore”, GŢ „Stanciuc Denis Viteslav”, GŢ „Morari Larisa”, GŢ „Popovici Sergiu”.
