Thesis structure: Introduction, 5 chapters, general conclusions and recommendations, bibliography of 348 titles, basic text – 245 pages, 5 tables, 1 figure and 6 annexes. Obtained results are published in more than 60 scientific papers. Field of Study: Communication Sciences. The aim of the work: conceptualization of social journalism as a media phenomenon, identification of peculiarities of social journalism in Moldova, determination and analysis of the approach strategies, operational practices and professional behavior samples. Objectives: to reveal the essence of social journalism in Moldova; to identify the directions of its activity, to establish the operational practices used to reflect social reality; to evaluate the social journalism product; to determinate the types of media activities and professional conduct. Novelty and originality resides in the research of the phenomenon of social journalism for the proposed diachronic segment, which revealed the specifics of the creative process, relational framework and the media products of the social journalism. Fundamentally new results obtained for science and practice resides in: the complex elucidation of the specific of social journalism; modeling the informational flow; elucidation of the evolution of social journalism from Moldova as a process and as a product. The theoretical significance of the thesis lies in: conceptualization of the social journalism phenomenon; presentation of a theoretical and methodological framework of its multi-disciplinary context that comes to point towards the opening of a new field of research. The value of the work: implementation of the proposed recommendations can make efficient social journalism in Moldova, and the scientific results can serve as a methodological basis for developing the editorial policies of media institutions. Implementation of scientific results: the scientific results have been published in a monograph; more than 60 publications and scientific studies; the information can be used as a scientific and didactic material for the university courses; contributions to national and international conferences; the elaboration of Journalist Code of Ethics in the Republic of Moldova in a new variant; the achievement of media projects expertise in the social journalism field.
