Summary

Field of study: land management as a fundamental factor of stable development of the region, which is a dynamically open territorial economic system.

Purpose of the study: development of theoretical basis and formation of methodological tools to improve land management capacity in the region to ensure its economic growth.

Goals: to conduct feasibility study of priority directions for increase of productivity of land resources in the region; propose a methodology to assess the efficiency of land use in agriculture; substantiate parameters of land potential productivity in Republic of Moldova and ATU Gagauzia; elaborate recommendations for improving the mechanism of regulation of the regional agricultural land use; propose and justify theoretical and methodological tools to rationalize the use of land resources.

Scientific novelty and originality. The study developed theoretical and scientific - methodological approaches to define the essence and importance of the reginal management of land potential; elaborated parameters of land productivity of the economic potential for agriculture in southern zone of the country; conducted feasibility study of land use minimum levels of efficiency in terms of unstable farming in ATU Gagauzia; drawn up recommendations for improving the mechanism of regulation of the regional agriculture land use.

The scientific problem solved in the study is to develop a comprehensive system to improve the management of land potential of the region, as the basis of its economic development.

Theoretical importance is in the fact that carried analysis of present state and perspectives of agricultural companies’ development in Republic of Moldova and ATU Gagauzia and drawn suggestions on providing their economic growth can be used for further theoretical development associated with a particular direction of stable economic development of the regions of the Republic of Moldova.

Practical importance is that analyses carried in the study, final results and conclusion where implemented as specific guidance and allow to increase the quality of strategical and tactical decisions of farmers as well as the regional authorities on the development of the domestic agricultural sector and enhance its effectiveness.

Results of the scientific studies, conclusions and practical recommendations where presented by the author in scientific reports on scientific conferences in the country and abroad, on the inter-chair seminars in the republic higher education institutions. The main recommendations and suggestions have been applied in the agricultural enterprises, such as «Cumnuc - Agro» Ltd., «Başcalean - Agro» Ltd. and S.A. «Aidîn», as well as in the elaboration of the program of development of the agricultural sector in ATU Gagauzia.
