The following research aimed at an improvement of training at hockey- players, beginner level, by means of movement games.
The European specialized literature largely analyses the issue of movement games and their role at beginner level. The theme of movement games has been and is largely analyzed and published, it representing a means and method of simultaneously developing of motor abilities and skills, of motor qualities as well as of psychic processes and personality traits.
Following the research performed we have elaborated two types of classification and a training programme for 9 – 11 years beginners. The programme has been applied on sportives from the experimental group during an ice season, within the Galatz hockey centre. The experimental programme has contributed to the significant increase of basic indexes in the training of little hockey – players from the experimental group, as compared with those of the test group that performed its sportive activity according to the plans and traditional programmes of sportive clubs.
From the analysis of the basic pedagogical experiment we may notice that the sportives in the experimental group have been superior to those from the test group, not only regarding the technical indicators, where the value differences are obvious, but also regarding the motive indicators or those of developing coordinating abilities.
The results of the research may be used as practical recommendations for sportive clubs trainers, as well as in the training process of students specialized in „skating”.
