Summary

Field of study:competitiveness management in stimulating the agrifood export potential.

Purpose and objectives of thesis: research and analysis on theoretical, practical and methodological foundation of competitiveness management and of its implications for improving the agrifood export potential; determining the agrifood export performance and establishing sectoral competitive environment; constraints analysis and surveying of related entities; elucidation of innovative institutional and strategic tools for argumentation of competitiveness management and the agrifood export increase.

Scientific novelty and originality: establishment in a unique concept the competitiveness management and its correlation with export; development of indices in assessing the export potential based on the sector internal and external resource; developing assessment methodologies for exporters of agri-food production, market positioning plan, comparison of international competitive factors; revealing institutions’ consolidation measures related to the promotion export and quality infrastructure; proposal of innovative tools to address agricultural hazard and monitoring livestock production; argumentation and application of the model of agri-food export competitiveness management in terms of technological category, foreign economic activity and institutionalization of quality.

Important scientific problem solved expresses improving methodological aspects in approaching competitiveness management and institutional, normative and analytical involving research on agrifood export potential.

Theoretical significance of the thesis consists in methodological rationale of how can be managed the competitiveness of the sector and that of agrifood products exporter through market, strategic and institutional approach.

Applicative value of dissertation: derives from the expressed recommendations and the scientific contribution will help diagnose the export potential, identification of constraints and application of the methodology to stimulate it through management of competitiveness processes.

Implementation of scientific results: recommendations of the thesis were accepted for implementation in the activity of Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, in projects ACED and MAC-P, at exporters ”Viva Igna”and ”Reforma CM”; at the same time, the proposed theory and methodology can serve as a useful tool in assessing and managing the competitive advantages of exporters and the sector as a whole.
