The area of research: management of the national labour market

The purpose of the researchis to generalize and to complete the theoretical and methodological concepts of the functioning of the labor market, to substantiate and elaborate the recommendations for improvement of the labor market management in the Republic of Moldova based on the experience of the European states and in the context of the integration in the European Union.

Objectives of the research: synthesis of the theoretical and methodological concepts of the labour market management (LMM); analysis of the directions of European strategies and policies in LMM; highlighting the European experience in the field of LMM applicable in the Republic of Moldova; determining the evolutionary trends and specific features of the national labor market, identification of the directions of LMM improvement and elaboration of the recommendations for improvement of the Republic of Moldova's LMM in the context of integration in the European Union.

Scientific novelty and originality of research: elaboration of author‟s own definition of LMM, based on the systematization of the theoretical and methodological concepts of LMM; determining the mechanisms and levers in the sphere of LMM applicable to the Republic of Moldova; development and scientific argumentation of: - updated system of indicators for monitoring the labour force migration, - indicators for evaluation of the employment services‟ efficiency, - indicators quantifying the quality of transition from studies to work; determining ways of improvement Public Employment Services‟ management, on the basis of European model of document “Country Fiche”; argumentation of measures of improvement of the labour market information base.

The important scientific problem solved: the theoretical-methodological and practical foundation of the basic directions of national LMM, based on increasing the competitiveness of the labour force, strengthening the functioning of the state structures in the field of labour and betterment the monitoring of specific processes in the labour market of the Republic of Moldova, in order to improve the LMM of the Republic of Moldova in the context of integration in the European Union.

Theoretical significance of the thesis: deepening of the scientific approaches regarding LMM, elaboration of the author‟s own definition of LMM and of the LMM model of the Republic of Moldova, elaboration and argumentation of the system of assessment of the dimensions of labor market specific processes.

Applicative value of the thesis: the results of the research can be used to improve LMM, in processes of monitoring and decision-making, thus, contributing to employment growth, including the practical work of public authorities empowered in the sphere of labor market.

The results of the research can be used in the curriculum of subjects, as `Economic Theory`, `Human Resource Management`, `Labor Market`, `Social Policies` etc.

The results obtained are published in 24 scientific publications(of which 23 are by single author), with a total volume of 9.15 author‟s sheets (including 5 articles in reviewed journals and 19 reports at scientific conferences, of them - 5 abroad).The scientific results were implemented within National Agency for Employment of Labour Force, its territorial subdivisions in Soroca and Cahul districts and International Institute of Management “IMI-NOVA”.
