Summary

This paper deals with the problem of improving sporting training at junior football players aged between and 16-18, by practicing stretching exercises before any competition.

According to the specialized literature and to the specialists’ opinion, it was shown that the techniques of applying the stretching methods are insufficiently known.

Applying these methods only at the beginning of the training, under the form of muscular stretching, doesn’t have the expected effects on the muscular force and mobility as well as on avoiding muscular tensions. We got to this result after developing an experiment where the level of junior football players’ physical, technical and tactical training was a lot below the standard established by the Romanian Football Association.

In this research, it was suggested that a special programmer should be performed, especially before the competitions, when the efforts are close to the effort done in a competition. This new programmer includes over 100 stretching exercises performed within, the first programmer (contraction-relaxation-stretch) in the first part of the training and before the main part of the training and within the second programmer (stretching at the end of each training and match.

Applying this method when training, especially before the competitions, juniors of 16-18 years old have greatly improved their level of physical and technical training as well as they has avoided muscular injuries in such an important training period.

As the method of organizing and developing trainings at junior football players aged between 16-18, by means of stretching, is both accessible and efficient, it can be of great help to trainers at all levels as well as to student who attend the specialized colleges and universities and who study “ The theory and methodology of sporting training”.
