Scientific thinking formation in students from higher education. PhD Thesis in psychology. Chişinau, 2014. The structure of the thesis: The thesis includes the introduction, three chapters, general conclusions and recommendations, references from 229 titles, 25 annexes, and glossary, it is perfected on 144 pages, including 56 figures and 15 tables. The results are published in 14 scientifically works. Key words: thinking, scientific thinking, critical thinking, logical thinking, the development of scientific thinking and the formation of scientific thought, way of thinking, intelligence, communication skills, organizational skills, thinking style. Domain of study: Psychology of higher education. The aim of the study consists in complex representation of scientific thinking in university students, indicating factors, conditions and mechanisms for the development of scientific thinking and the relationship with the various individual aspects of personality and the conditions of its formation in university education. The aim of the work was done by several objectives: to analyze of the level of scientific thinking, critical thinking, and the conditions of its formation in the I and II cycle of study with different academic learning profiles; to identify the factors that contribute to the development of scientific thinking in students; to establish the correlation between scientific thinking - logical thinking - research potential and style of thinking; to make profile of students with a high level of scientific thinking; to choose teaching methods for development of scientific thinking; to elaborate, implement and evaluate the formative program to develop students’ scientific thinking. The major scientific problem. This research represents a comprehensive study of scientific thinking that suppose the determination of scientific thinking level, highlighting components and conditions that contribute to the development of students' scientific thinking, analyzing their psychological portrait, on which were developed strategies combined in a program that allows students’ scientific thinking increasing. Scientific novelty and originality. In a new approach has been subjected to experimental research the concept of scientific thinking. The outcome of the investigation were identified basic components of scientific thought and were defined the conditions that contribute to the development of scientific thinking in students. A training program was developed and tested its beneficial impact on the level of scientific thinking of students. Theoretical significance and the applicative value of the work. The significance of the paper lies in the concept of scientific thinking and the research conditions, factors that influence the formation and development of the scientific thinking at university students. Practical significance of this paper consists in possibility to use the formative methodological support program by psychologists, trainers, teachers and all those concerned with scientific research. Implementation of scientific results. The training program has been implemented in teaching courses at the Faculty of Psychology and Special Education at the State Pedagogical University „Ion Creanga”.
