The research results are reflected in 14 scientific publications. Research objectives: analysis of the evolution of the psycho-pedagogical counseling concept; determining the epistemological foundations of psycho-pedagogical counseling; identifyng the defining features of psycho-pedagogical counseling; determining the criteria, indicatorsand the level of psycho-pedagogical counseling competency in pedagogical students; rationale for and development of the Pedagogical Model of developing competencies of psycho-pedagocial counseling in students, centered on the theoretical and methodological aspects; experimental validation of the methodology for developing competencies of psycho-pedagocial counseling in students; systematization, analysis and interpretation of the research results. Scientific novelty and originality of the research consists inredefining throughthe multidisciplinary lens the concept of psycho-pedagocial counseling, which is an educational personality development tool enhancing personality traits; theoretical rationale of specific features of psycho-pedagocial counseling; development of the Pedagogical Model of developing competencies of psycho-pedagogical counseling in students, centered on the theoretical and methodological aspects. The scientific problem solved in research resides in developing the theoretical and methodological principles of developing competencies of student psycho-pedagogical counseling; defining the principles included in the Pedagogical Model that have contributed to a more efficient initial professional development of students in the educational field and ensuring the quality of educational services provided by educational institutions. Theoretical significance of the research consists in demonstrating the complexity of the psycho-pedagogical counseling phenomenon; deducting the principles of intentionality, multidimensionality, eclecticism and applicability, based on which the Pedagogical Model of developing the psycho-pedagogical competency has been developed; demonstrating the functionality of the Pedagogical Model applied during the initial professional development of future teachers, building on the complementarity of self-development and teaching activities. Applied value of research focuses on ascertaining that the Pedagogical Model of developing the psycho-pedagogical competency is a valid approach validated by experimental means and useful in increasing the eficiency of educational and instructive in educational institutions and improving the teacher-student relationship. Research results may be of real use to teaching staff, psychology educators, school psychologists from educational institutions. The practical recommendations may be applied in the initial and continous education of teaching staff. Implementation of scientific results was conducted based on experimental research at the State Univeristy of Moldova and through presentations at national and international scientific conferences, scientific publications and practical activities involving student teachers.
